What's Coming in The AC:NH Version 1.5.0 Update?
Many fans felt the second part to the Version 1.4.0 update was rather lacking, only adding Dreaming and the Firework, which appear every Sunday night in August. With the end of the month drawing near, it begs the question; what will the next update entail, and when will it come? We've done some research and have put together some thoughts and ideas of what may come. Be warned, as this post may contain spoilers.
To get started, let's mention something that we spoke about in our previous speculation post; farming. Thanks to dataminer Ninji, we learned that Version 1.4.0 update actually elaborated more on what already existed. All previous existing vegetable names remain - tomato, wheat, sugar cane, carrot and potato - except pumpkin seems to have been changed to squash. There are also mentions of a new bush variety coming, the plumeria.
It seems most likely at this stage that some sort of farming/cooking mechanic will be coming to the game, but what it does isn't yet known. It could be an update to the crafting mechanic, or add an entirely new layer of depth to the game. Do we think this could appear in the next update? Possibly. The Fall/Spring are the two main seasons associated with farming and such, so it's certainly a possibility!
With the addition of farming, we also expect a few other things to pop up; a new Garden Centre! With a new bush type being added to the game, Ninji also found evidence that supports a new type of garden tent coming, that is separate to Leif's tent. Whether Leif decides to expand his business, or a new character will be introduced to run this store is yet to be seen.
It's possible this garden centre will be where you can buy seedlings to start growing crops. It may also allow the player to buy the missing fruits, such as persimmon and durian, as well as fertilizer, and potentially even perfect fruit!
We assume whenever the farming stuff gets added to the game, this new farming stuff will too, or at least, won't be far behind. Ninji also mentions they've hidden some references to cooking and sewing DIYs, so this could be a very hefty feature...
Next up is Brewster, everyone favorite barista. Despite being a much beloved character, he was missing from the base game, as well as gyroids, which have been a staple to the Animal Crossing series. The latest update points to 35 types of gyroids appearing, and also alludes to them having their own spot in The Museum.
Previous update also mentioned the Museum adding a Cafe and Shop as well... When the game first came out, a lot of people speculated the second floor would house the art exhibit, but with that now added, there isn't really much room to add a Shop AND Cafe inside... Maybe these will be accessible via the art room?
Out of everything mentioned thus far, we believe Brewster and the Cafe to be the best candidate for the next update. Don't ask us why, but we really feel Brewster fits the "Fall" vibe perfectly. We also feel like this would be a good time for Gracie to start appearing, and bringing some of her fine apparel with her, but that's just speculation on our behalf. As for when we may see these updates, we have a few theories.
The first is at the start of September. Since release, they've had an update that covers at least one month of the game. March was the release month, April gave us Bunny Day in 1.0.0, and April held the big 1.2.0 update, which gave us May Day and the Museum Event in May, alongside Wedding Season in June, not to mention we also got Redd and Leif during this time. We got 1.3.0 in July which allowed us to swim, and finally 1.4.0 in August, which gave us Dreaming and Fireworks. They've had something going for them every month up until this point, so it seems like they'll want to give us an update just in time for September...
We should also mention that the 1.4.0 update started prepping for Halloween. This could simply be prep work for the upcoming holiday, or be a sign that they don't plan on adding anything until the event draws near, and this is where our second theory comes in... When you read everything that looks to be added, and factor in the upcoming seasonal events, such as Halloween and Thanksgiving, it's really a whole chunk of stuff... They might just hold off all together and give us nothing until October... or they could potentially do what they did with the Summer Update, and give us this piece in two parts - one giving us farming/cooking, and the other the cafe/gyroids.
Of course, whatever they decide to do, we should have some sort of answer this coming week. They've often released these update trailers towards the end of the month, so if something is coming, we should see it announced on their Twitter sometime this week. If nothing appears, then it's anyone's guess when these upcoming features might appear.

What abt the nooks cranny upgrade?
ReplyDeleteMan I really hope they add the upgrades to Nook's Cranny some day! It feels so off having Nook's Cranny around for so long without it being upgraded. If Nintendo doesn't do it, I'll understand considering we're on an island, but I'll definitely feel a little more suffocated from everything staying so small.
DeleteMm. That would be good.

DeleteNooks Cranny is upgraded when you bought andsoldenough at the store
Deletethere is gonna be jack
DeleteI don't know. I would love Gracie to come back don't get me wrong, but I feel that she's been replaced by Label.
ReplyDeleteThat makes sense cuz when lebel shows up on one of her bags gracies scarf is tied to it
DeleteShe's definitely replaced. Gracie was super mean and kids cried
Delete@unknown it's label not lebel
DeleteExcept Gracie had more than just clothes. And even then, Label only gives you an outfit piece and Tailor Tickets. She doesn't give you the options to buy anything. Unless they plan on expanding her functions, I could very well see Gracie reappear
DeleteI wish they'd add Fertilizer for my garden.
ReplyDeleteI wish we could have an amount drop box so we could say how many we want to buy instead of buying 1 at a time. Also be able to buy multiple items at the label sisters store.
ReplyDeleteAgreed. That would be nice.
DeleteWish for expanding swim area + water wildlife around island
DeleteI think a Cave to explore would be great! You could fish, catch cave critters and mine there.
ReplyDeleteshut uuuuup
Deleteshut up this isnt stardew valley
DeleteI talked with a Nintendo rep this past week, and they confirmed with me that 1) they are working on amiibos for the new characters and 2) the next update will be released sometime during the last 2 weeks of September
ReplyDeleteI call bull crap. There's always that one person who claims "I talked to video game company." Yeah, that's how they don't want things to get leaked. Oh! By the way. I talked to Nintendo. They didn't say anything to you.
DeleteLMAO 😂🤣😂
DeleteNo one ever talks about the sewing thats also coming out.
ReplyDeleteI wish they'd re-release the amiibo cards so people who didn't play new leaf could afford to buy them. I don't trust the homemade ones on etsy & eBay. Seems to good to be true.
ReplyDeleteI've purchased the amiibos on Etsy and they have all worked. Give it a try!
DeleteI've purchased a couple from eBay and not had any issues with them.
DeleteI've purchased quite a few amiibos from Etsy and they worked perfectly.
DeleteThere has been an official re-release (in july) of the Amiibo cards in Japan to thwart crazy prices and gouging on amazon/ebay etc. You can find order information on Nintendos website (myNintendo).
DeleteYou can't order them online though if you are outside of Japan. There has been no word on the release for the rest of the world or whether or not that will happen.
For news articles search google using 'amiibo card reprint'
Okay but when are we gonnA get star fragment trees back
ReplyDeleteNo they took it out because they would have banned everyone. They banned this one YouTuber that had the star trees... So I don't think they're going to use that
Delete@HimakoHime The misinformation that gets spread is ridiculous! Abdallah didn't get banned, they had 3 of his videos removed only minutes after he posted his dream address.
DeleteHopefully there's an update where you can dream with or without a subscription to Nintendo and be able to use the items you make and by like the pools and teacup rides. And more stuff for hair and more colors for it.
ReplyDeleteIt's only 4 bucks a month i think it's worth it
DeleteI make my own amiibos for AC and they all work great, just like the real ones, i just wish the new charaftwrs were available
ReplyDeleteIdgaf about farming or Halloween items or even brewster rn but if there isn't some way of getting more design slots (even if you have to pay nmt or requires an sd card ) I'm going to be so raging
ReplyDeleteWhile I can see why the crops would imply cooking, the dataminers NEVER said they were from that only that they exist. If anything they're likely not for cooking at all and going off what they are barring the tomato they just sound like things from Fall itself and knowing AC....the Thanksgiving event. Especially if they went in this past update to hide the cooking implications, that just screams they're associated with Thanksgiving, probably are what you need for the Thanksgiving items or the actual event. Makes me wanna lean towards the furniture akin to eggs for bunny day. Thanksgiving was always getting food items in the first place too so, that seems far more likely to be their use. As again dataminers said both things were there but never once said they were related all you news spots and blogs said that....
ReplyDeleteA rocket balloon is also another top seller. It is a long whistling inflatable rocket that alarms kids and get them to actively chase the balloons around. water toys for kids
