Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity Revealed - Coming November 20th, 2020

After many months of speculating, fans had wondered what Nintendo's holiday 2020 title would be, which has now been revealed as Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity; a sequel to the critically claimed Hyrule Warriors, and a prequel to the main series title, Breath of the Wild. More details below!

At the present, little is known about the game. We know Link, Zelda and the four Champions will all be playable, and some also speculate a Guardian will be playable in some capacity, due to it's appearance on the box art. The game takes place 100 years before the events of Breath of the Wild, and will show the events before calamity hit.

The original Hyrule Warriors had its own original storyline, with multiple Zelda universes coming together. Many fans had wondered what this version of Hyrule was like before the calamity took over, and now it's likely we'll be able to see those events happen. It's also likely we'll get a much better look at the Champions, as well as their relationships with Link and Zelda.

As a fan who bought the Wii U, 3DS and Switch version of Hyrule Warriors, this news makes me very happy. Whilst details have been scarce, Nintendo have announced more information will come to light on September 26th. Players who preorder the game on the Nintendo eShop will receive the Lucky Ladle as a bonus weapon for Link.

Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity launches for Nintendo Switch on November 20th.
