Animal Crossing: New Horizons - New Year's Event Guide
As 2020 draws to a close, you can bring in the New Year with Animal Crossing: New Horizons. Although the celebration is small, there are still a number of unique and exclusive items you can get your hands on during the event. We've documented everything to ensure everyone can get the most out of the event!
The items you can obtain from the event can happen anytime during New Years Eve, starting from 5am. However, there are 16 different kind of New Years hats you can buy, and your Island will only have access to four varieties. If you want to purchase all hats, you'll need to visit your friends to see which they have. The hats can be bought from Tom Nook at the Resident Services Plaza for 500 bells each, and you can also buy a 5-oack of party poppers for 300 bells.
Speaking to Isabelle before the New Year rolls in will also give you a light stick, which you can wave in the air as the fireworks light up the sky, alongside your Villagers! Once midnight draws near, Isabelle will urge your Villagers to gather around the Plaza, watching the countdown to the New Year!
